Shock absorbers
Shock absorbers provide a more comfortable ride plus better and safer handling. Together with the tyres, they are one of the essential components of a car’s suspension system. They are the link between the road and the tyre. Many people are unaware of the dangers that arise due to worn tyres. When was the last time you thought about having them checked?
When should you change your shock absorbers?
It is important to have them checked regularly by a professional. We recommend that you have them checked every 20,000 kms and replaced ideally every 70,000 kms.
Suspension kits and springs should also be replaced at the same intervals.
Voor je veiligheid laat je ook best de uitlijning van het chassis nakijken.
For your safety, the chassis alignment must also be checked.
If you notice any of the following signs, it means the shock absorbers are worn out and need to be replaced:
- You feel vibrations in the cabin as you drive
- Tyres are worn unevenly and prematurely
- Aquaplaning, longer braking distances and loss of trajectory control
If you have spotted any of these signs, do not hesitate to come to one of our centres to have them checked.
